A collection of paintings using the interplay of creative people and their work to explore stylistic and conceptual contrasts.

Sometimes a model I hire for a complex narrative painting catches my attention and demands further exploration. Who can resist the starlet's closeup? Lights! Camera! Action!

There's nothing wrong with beauty for beauty's sake. These images bask in the pure emotion of the moment.

Commissions are accepted of most any subject, but most commissions are portraits of individuals, groups (including couples, families, or business groups), family pets, or house/property portraits.

All prices are approximate and are for single figure portraits. Prices will vary by nature of the subject, for multiple figures and for complexity of costume, details, and backgrounds. For additional figures add 50% of the shown cost per figure. Travel expenses will be negotiated depending upon distance and size of commission. The artist can work from life, from existing photos or will take photographic reference at the customer's expense.

The following are records of my travels. Some are plein air studies, while others are studio pieces from photos taken while I was traveling. In each case, I have tried to draw upon my observation and memory to capture the effects of light, through atmosphere, on form.
